Ampersand has officially become a member of the UK Green Building Council (UK GBC) as of July 2021.
The UK GBC’s mission is to radically improve the sustainability of the built environment, by transforming the way it is planned, designed, constructed, maintained and operated.
As Greg Borel, Managing Partner at Ampersand, puts it:
We're proud to be an official member of an organisation whose purpose is so well-aligned to our own: accelerating impact and the transition to a sustainable, regenerative economy.
More specifically, Ampersand has recently launched the CUBE Competition, which aligns directly with UK GBC’s vision to mitigate climate change, eliminate waste and maximise resource efficiency, as well as optimise the health and wellbeing of people.
It is the first UK-wide competition for commercial buildings to deliver energy savings by engaging occupiers and promoting behaviour change. Past participants in the French edition of the competition, including Orange and BNP Paribas, have seen up to 55% energy savings in one year.
We know that commercial buildings across the UK will thrive in this competition by taking this necessary first step towards net zero and achieving the UKGBC’s sustainability ambitions.
